Partner Organisations DRIACDEP works closely with a number of partner organisations to further our service delivery and development capacity. Currently these include::
Ironbark (NT) Employment and Training Incorporated - is a membership based community organisation incorporated under the Associations Act (NT). DRIACDEP currently assist Ironbark (NT) Employment and Training with the delivery of Night Patrol services to the Acacia Larrakia and Belyuen Communities. This service is operated under the trading name of Ironbark Development Services. Ironbark Development Services manages the delivery of night patrol services to Acacia Larrakia and Belyuen communities on behalf of the Australian Government's Attorney-General's Department. Night patrols aim to assist people at risk of either causing or becoming the victims of harm in order to break the cycle of violence and crime in communities. The night patrol approach is based on non-coercive intervention strategies to prevent and control anti-social and destructive behaviours through the promotion of culturally appropriate processes around conflict resolution and contemporary law enforcement measures. The activities undertaken by a night patrol service may include relocating a person to a ‘safe’ environment (eg relative’s home, recognised safe house, woman’s refuge, hospital or other medical facility), diffusing violent situations, diverting intoxicated people away from contact with the criminal justice system and providing advice, information or referral (eg to a counselling service). For more information about this night patrol service, contact John Sampson: Holtze
Ironbark (NT) Employment and Training are also working on the establishment of an Indigenous labour-hire service, to provide a central point for industry and business seeking Indigenous employees, while supporting Indigenous people seeking employment. This initiative is being developed in conjunction with DRIACDEP. For more information on this initiative, contact Kelvin Costello - Email: Kelvin.costello@ironbark.org.au Aboriginal Bush Traders Limited - is a not-for-profit company established by DRIACDEP to further development and support available to Indigenous artists, tourism operators and bush harvesters in Darwin and the surrounding region. This company is relatively new and still progressing through its establishment phase. Eventually, it is expected that DRIACDEP will transfer some of its activities badged under its trading name of Aboriginal Bush Traders to be managed by the company. For more information on current activities under DRIACDEP visit the Aboriginal Bush Traders website www.aboriginalbushtraders.com or email us info@aboriginalbushtraders.com
